DAO definitely feels like a more complete story to me. The smallish scope of DOS2 has never sat well with me, I don't think the sense of urgency is really there and the ending feels rushed.
Both games have great, multidimensional characters, I think. I think it's fair to draw parallels between the two games, though.
They both have similar levels of dark fantasy and explore some of the same themes. It just sucks that the AI's bad and has to resort to cheating. Bioware games have always had great characters I think, but the Origin cast in DOS2 is pretty strong imo.
I end up playing a custom character just so that I can see the premades' personalities and whatnot instead of making decisions as them. There just isn't enough banter or dialogue and the romances, while well-written, divinity original sin 2 party size more like a one-off thing than an ongoing relationship. Is aoeah legit like Fane didn't acknowledge my romance with him at all during Arx and it wasn't even considered during the epilogue thing.
I wish this game had more of the party conflict that DOS1 had, though I never played that game too much. Map size isn't as important warframe trade tax variety, really, and DAO had a really great sense of scope and openness despite being divided up.
I wish DOS2 took a similar approach with its map, instead of having everything be in one contiguous pseudo-open-world per act. It feels kinda mishmash at times.
Sidenote, I was really surprised how good DAI was when I finally got around to playing it DOS2 gets bonus points for me just cuz it's got lizards though. Originally posted by fulf:.

Alternatively, you can donate through PaypalFlattr and Liberapay.! There's a pretty big patch out for Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition that fixes a number of issues, and shows Larian is supporting their game well. How have you guys been finding the Linux version?
I still haven't found divinity original sin 2 party size time to sit down and give it a proper run through, what am I missing? The basic gameplay is straight-forward and great fun to explore, and once you've felt your way around most of the game which will take many hours depending on how thorough you are you might get the itch to take your creativity to the next level.
Original Sin does a fantastic job of merging the organic feel of tabletop with the best offerings of contemporary gaming technology. The next step in staying true to these roots is to allow players the ability to build levels within the game's engine.
The engine is solid and provides for smooth gameplay even on less advanced set-ups, though my one small complaint is load times, which of course vary by computer. The Divinity Ori and the blind forest walkthrough Toolkit is far more advanced than many level editors in other games of its ilk.
As divinity original sin 2 party size player who loved to create levels in games like the original Warcraft games and Lode Runner, I had all the creative will, but very little of the modding and world editing advanced knowledge. Larian has provided many videos to help those who are newer to level editing on this scale.
The step by step guidance was extremely helpful for me, and while building levels this way is definitely more complex and time consuming than in other games, it also creates a more detailed and personalized product.
Original Sin is a sampling of some of the best offerings from both old and new schools.
A fitting homage to the divinity original sin 2 party size I grew up playing, it also establishes an identity of its own and can be grouped in among the best of the genre. Between all of the creative ways to construct zin the game and the sprawling world to explore, the game brings apt innovation to an already solid genre.
