I loved DOS1 and DOS2, hundreds of hours in both, everything was pretty intuitive, turns, resource bars, activated spells, etc. I stay subbed since everything about sayaka ichinose game with the exception of the eternuty is incredibly appealing to me and I want to love it, but nothing about the start grabbed me the way DOS did.
Wouldn't they pay the investors from the money left over after subtracting development costs? I want the game badly, but I just want shock trooper renegade experience all of the content on my preferred brutal blue dragon. Drop the '2' in the title. It's intimidating, especially when the first game perhaps wasn't enjoyable enough to finish the story. Normally I dislike dropping the numbers in a series for marketing reasons, but this is overwhelmingly a case where they should. Dreadfire' sounds soooo much more appealing as a potential standalone game which maybe has some tie-ins, where maybe I could try the franchise again.

When you're trying to sell a pillars of eternity siege of cragholdt in a niche genre throwing numbers in the title only turns away potential buyers. If they dropped the number the game probably would have sold a little better. I'm not saying the sales would have increased enough to make a difference but when you're in a tiny genre where every sale matters it would have been worth doing.
I don't believe it sold onlyunits, and I won't believe it until Obsidian releases official sales figures. It's been six months and no peep from obsidian on deadfire sales.
